You're closer
than
my very
breath.
*
I've found it
impossible
to
stop writing,
as long as you are
near.
*
When the
smell of
fear
encircles and threatens me,
all I have to do
is to
close my eyes
and
reach out to you.
When I sense
you
near,
I quickly take in the
deepest breath.
What
magnificence,
yet
you stoop to
where I stand,
your
merciful face
relaxes mine.
What
tremendous strength,
yet
your
tenderness
soothes my
wearied and brittle
bones.
Fresh breath
flows into my soul.
Its
light
penetrates into the
darkest corners
of
my mind.
Old words
fade away.
New words
appear and surround
the crown of my head.
A fortress is built.
Only possibilities
can enter.
Its
refreshment
nourishes and broadens
my heart.
Fear has lost
its grip.
New faith
takes over
and
lulls this little heart
into a
rhythm.
Now,
it
beats with
life
and
spreads its
energy
throughout my being,
soft,
warm,
empowering.
*
I
open my eyes.
I
take another
deep breath.
The world looks
never the same again.
I smell
purpose.
I sense
the cause to live.
Vitality
leads my feet
out of isolation.
Laughter
springs
from my heart
and
splashes onto
the people around me.
Thankfulness, songs, hope, faith
steer my tongue.
The abundance of this
mighty flow
that I drink in
fills me
and
overflows
into my hands and fingers
to write
this love letter.
I've found it
impossible
to
stop writing,
as long as you are
near,
as near as
I can sense you
and
breathe in another moment
of your presence
to
fall in love again
and
whisper
*
Beloved,
how could I live a day
without
you?
