Genuine love
is a
covenant
that
never
says
goodbye.
*
Goodbye:
escape,
leave,
disappear,
abandon,
neglect,
ignore,
quit,
give up,
disconnect.
These are actions
birthed by
a particular
decision-making process.
And
the common denominator
in these words is
its
decision maker -
Feelings.
When
over-considered,
feelings
hurries our feet
to walk out on
Genuine Love.
When
over-valued,
feelings
pulls us away into
the wrong places
at
the wrong time.
*
What we
feel
always changes
because
our surroundings
keep changing.
Feelings are
unstable,
fluctuating,
fickle,
inconstant,
and according to the Merriam Webster,
'traitorous,
unfaithful,
untrue,
disloyal'.
The strength of
Genuine Love
is completely different.
It is the opposite of
goodbye.
Genuine Love
doesn't change.
It is
steadfast,
continual,
durable,
devoted,
steady
faithful,
loyal.
*
What I feel
is
just about
me.
When I consider
my
feelings,
I'm just concerned about
myself.
And if
I
matter most to me,
Genuine Love
cannot exist in me.
Genuine Love
takes two or more,
never just
one.
