[The New Yorker 20 April 2009]
Discontentment
is the first necessity to
progress.
Thomas A. Edison
*
What are you dissastisfied with?
Yes,
they are burdens.
You either complain
or desire.
Complain
is the language of
victims.
Its words
curse situations.
It slumps onto the couch
and wastes time.
It cannot progress.
I believe the Discontentment
Thomas Edison refers to is
Desire.
It starts with a spark.
With discipline and dilligence,
it will grow
into bursts of
delight.
Progress!
