Weekend Surrender.

National Day was quite a blast.
The pictures only reflect a fraction of the people;
and 5% of the fun we had.

T'was a pity we didn't get to picnic at the Waterfront but
the rain came at the wrong time
so we had to settle at the indoor stadium's platform.

Honestly,
I'm very proud to be a Singaporean.
Do you know that foreign professionals all over the world
rank Singapore the 33rd ideal country to live in
[living standards, government, state security, economy]?

We're ranked above Tokyo, Hong Kong and even New York City.

Do you know that the blueprint of the City Hall
was a vision Sir Stamford Raffles had
when he found Singapore?

Singapore is truly a special nation -
with a remarkable destiny.

We had Carol's tumeric chicken wings,
Tiffany's lethally addictive marshmallow brownie,
Cecilia's fruit salad [it was professionaly diced, okay?],
Tim Sum, loads of sandwiches , pizza and two [very sadly] boxes of Singapore's best otak -
I never enjoyed otak like this before.

We were going crazy over
that 10% of the fireworks -
caught a few bursts of 'shimmers' due to the highhhh-rise condominiums.
