Yes, we dream big.
But big dreams can't unfold
in the hands of someone
who can't be faithful and consistent in the mundane.
This is truth is very hard for
most high-achievers to swallow.
These people are drawn to the spectacular,
the hullaballoo and the big-bangs.
They're quite flamboyant in their pursuits.
They want to bag everything big -
high distinctions, breakthroughs, that swanky car and breathtaking villa -
ah, I know, cos I am a high-achiever.
Sometimes are dreams and visions cloud our minds
that we overlook and even
despise
the necessary menial tasks that lead us to bring
those dreams and visions to pass.
We read how the birds of the air
are fed -
but let us remember
their Creator didn't deliver their breakfast and supper
to their nestbeds.
It's in the day-to-day,
little things,
menial tasks,
that open the doors
to your destiny.
Do what you need to do today,
and do what you need to do tomorrow.
Do it well
and you're nearer to the spectacular.
