BKK was bangin' cool.

Wherever you turn,
You see beautiful people.
The guys sure preen themselves alot.
The girls' got the sweetness and spice altogether.
I believe their beauty is just a reflection of their admirable character.
They are such polite, happy and loyal people.
I still meet the very same shop tenders a year after my previous trip!
Yea, I'm quite surprised I remembered.

Many times, I hear groups sales girls belting out in Thai rhymes over simple snacks.
They tease and share.
Thais remind me we're never too old to play.
Melodies hang in the air whenever they're around.
Thai language cheers me up.
Its gentle twang soothes the ear so conditioned to the daily Singlish slang.


BKK is a place you feel like a child again
Cos the land is so vast
You've got the urge to let go and skip around like Jazzy (hahaha)

I was mistaken for being a Thai-Chinese during my entire trip.
Its quite amusing huh.
I couldn't agree with Carol when she said I resemble one.
Oh well!

The string of chiding by Aunt Zoe's worth it.
Riding on a Tuktuk gives me the adrenaline I got when I was a kid on a swing.
I admit I was stifling alot of giggling through my alfresco adventure.

Aunt Zoe thinks its ridiculous bumpin' around in a Tuktuk amidst cancerous pollution.
It's funny how she refused to put down her tissue over her nose
When I disturbed her during the ride.

The Thais never save on colours.
They obviously celebrate variety.
I just appreciate how they splurge on colouring up their city,
Even their food.

Best crepe in the world.
I had at least one three days during my stay!

The prettiest cafe I've ever been.
It's called Iberry at Siam Square.
I'd love to own one of this kind someday.

This nostalgic bed's in a boutique.

The Thai's set the standard for what a food court should be like.

The jolly stuff aside,
I swallowed the urge to cry whenever I spotted beggars by the streets.
The poverty-stricken roadside stall holders move me too.
The poor-rich divide is so wide
It stings my eyes.

I don't know how they survive.
I could only drop a few Bahts in their money tins,
And then walk away with a momentary heart ache.

To them, your generosity is worth a million bucks.
I really hope one day, I can do more for people like them.
I just don't like the feeling of walking away.

Their needs make me want to study and work harder.

Yah Lan spoke to me before I left for Bangkok.
She left me a word that's so true to my reflection,
'If you don't want to do it for your sake,
Do it for others' sake.
