Truth
never goes out
of
fashion.
*
We have a
bad habit
of
consuming
facts
like
products.
We
shop
for
information
that is
convenient.
Grab and go.
'It got my
attention
so
it must be
good.'
Junk food
looks
good
too.
Fact is,
it's
mouth-watering
even.
The first
bite
sends us
wolfing down
the rest of it.
Bad stuff
doesn't just
appear
harmless,
they
usually
look
very good.
Four weeks
ago,
somebody offered me
an apple.
I wasn't hungry
so I popped it in the cabinet.
It was all forgotten
until yesterday.
The fruit
was
as cute and perfect
as it was
one month ago.
Should I still eat it?
I could,
if I don't mind
the layers of pesticide
needed to
preserve
the fruit
-
one
that's
supposed to
keep the doctor away.
Today's
rapid and colourful digital age
fashions information
in so many ways
to
bedazzle
us.
Minute by minute,
we could be
so
captivated,
before we could
think,
we swallow
almost anything
the news feeds
spoon out.
*
Welcome
to
today's
Garden of Eden
where it
rains
an avalanche of
good
and
bad
apples
to whet your appetite.
And
who says
technology has
bred a generation
who doesn't like to read?
Truth is,
we are reading
more than ever.
Otherwise,
the Internet
wouldn't work.
In this
upsized digital jungle,
we,
like Adam and Eve,
shop countless sites
brimming with
constantly refreshed
stocks
of
tempting, tasty
news
about
the
news.
Here,
you can
be anyone
you want to be.
Celebrity, musician, curator,
writer, news reporter, motivational speaker, inspiration giver,
fashion guru
-
just sign up
with YouTube, Vimeo, Blogger
or any dot coms.
We
plant ourselves
in the fertile grounds of the social network
and
manufacture
our own good and bad apples.
At the global counter of
Twitter
where
all kinds of people
have been serving
the
Twiterverse
with
bite-sized servings
of
digestible, tasty bits
about everything from
what they ate for lunch
to
their philosophies of life.
We only realise
not all is
junk,
if we just
use
one of the greatest gifts
for
humankind
-
our
will.
We are
free
to
choose.
Let's make the
gift
work for us
-
not against us.
Slow down
and
consider
a few moments
before
putting the apples in our
shopping basket.
Smart info-shopping
could bag you
nutritious
truths and wisdom.
Good information
helps us
live better.
Let's be
smarter
apple-pickers
because
one thing's
for sure
-
there's a lot more
information
ahead.
And having it all
doesn't
make us
smarter
anymore.

I would like to exchange links with your site www.valerictorian.com
Is this possible?
Hi there, great to have you here.
Anything's possible but Valerictorian doesn't exchange links for now. How about sending your URL so I could have a look? Thanks!
