There's
a
crack
in
everything.
That's
how the
Light
comes
in.
*
We
live in an
up and down
ebb and flow
universe
yet
we'd rather
stay high
than
get low
in life.
When we find
ourselves
in
down times,
some of us
resist,
others
panic.
Failed plans
and
dashed hopes
remind us that
we have
little control
over
most situations
and
that our lives are
temporary.
This truth
terrifies
us so much
we
resist
every downturn,
from a
lost wallet
to a
criticism of our performance,
as if it were
death
itself.
We
shrink away,
passionately embrace
denial,
or
pretend
things
are perfectly fine.
This is
the
lie
of our
crazed ego.
We don't like to
know
we are
weak
even though
we justify
we are
'Imperfect.
Just human beings'.
We like to
remain
on the
mountain tops
even when
we're clearly
gurgling further down
into deep waters.
'What should I do now?
How do I get out of this?'
*
Do nothing
when
nothing works!
We are
so into
the fixing and doing
we
protest
with the conviction
we
can mend
every crack.
We
cannot
and
we can never
do that.
Sometimes,
the most
productive and proactive
thing to do
is
to
do nothing
but
surrender
to the truth
that
perfection
isn't
manmade
-
a
gargantuan challenge
to some of us.
This is the time
nature
is
turning you
inward,
to your
heart,
and
gain
something
which
nobody
and
nothing
outside of you
could offer;
to
discover
what the
crack
is all about;
what it
reveals
about ourselves.
Not for
condemnation
but
a
gentle,
and
much needed reminder
that
you're not god
and
you do not have to
bear the burden
of
running your life
in fear of the next bad day.
On Earth,
there will
never
be
a
perfect day
there will
never
live
a
perfect
man or woman
there will
never
exist
a
perfect
place.
In
everything
and
everyone,
there is a
crack.
And
that's how
the
Light
can
come in.
