Generation WE: The Movement Begins... from Generation We on Vimeo.
Every
decision
you make
today
will either
rob
or
give
to
your next
generation.
*
America
was a country
praise and revered
to be a
promise land
of
abundance
and
liberty.
But
today,
the generation who
enjoyed these
has left
no inheritance
to today's American generation.
The baton it has
passed on into the hands
of its
children
is
the world's largest debt
to pay
and
a string of sad consequences
caused by
bad decisions
and
poor values.
I believe the purpose
of this video
is not to
bemoan about the problem
but to
encourage and empower
victims to be victors.
Let's learn from
one another.
*
In the beginning of
breakthroughs,
everybody
celebrates
and
gives thanks.
After much suffering,
it's easy to
appreciate
abundance.
But
after some time,
when
abundance
becomes a
norm,
our amazement
fizzles off,
we
take things for granted
we
take things for granted
and
we start to believe
we deserve
more.
This is when
we begin to
hate
waiting and hoping
anymore.
We
demand
for more
and if
more
doesn't come,
impatience
tempts us
to
do anything
to
get more -
we don't work
for money,
we borrow
to shop,
we spend
the money
we
don't have.
We
abuse and reduce
our
freedom
into a
bondage.
From a generation
that
ploughs, sows, waters,
prays for good weather
and
work some more
when the harvest is ripe
and
work some more
by cleaning and cooking
before enjoying the fruits of labour,
to a generation
that,
at the throw of
$5.70,
gets a hot set meal
on a tray within 60 seconds
[otherwise, be compensated with an ice cream]
-
we could be
spoiled rotten
if we don't
make the effort
to
be grateful
and
carve out a
character
of
resilience, diligence
and
faithfulness.
When we
stop giving thanks,
we
allow
ourselves to
get too used to
goodness
and
unintentionally
corrupt
it into
poison.
*
Challenge:
Give thanks
for
three things
you tend to
take for granted.
Make a list,
if you like.
Reflect on the
decisions
you made during the
past week.
Decisions
of
any sort
that led you to
behave,
believe,
or
do
something
in a situation.
Imagine
and
conclude
how those decisions would
affect your future:
Would it
rob
or
give,
destroy
or
build up
the people
involved in your journey ahead?
What kind of
legacy
do you want to leave behind?
Do you want to be
the robber
or
the giver
in your
family line?
