Because you are
born
to
finish.
*
You are
empowered
to
endure
all things
when you have a
purpose
to hold onto.
For me,
the purpose
that has fueled me
to keep waking up
and
live each day
is in what
Sun Ho wrote to me,
'Hi Valerie,
I'm so glad that
you're
back home.
Don't ever give up
on God
cos
He'll never
give up on
you.'
2009
has been
the most challenging year
for me
but
challenges
aren't bad news
anymore
because I learned
the only way to be
a stronger and better fighter
is to go through
greater battles.
We all desire to
reign
from
'glory to glory'
in our lives.
Usually,
we tend to believe
that means
having lesser challenges
and
ultimately,
no challenges
anymore.
This is
downright nonsense.
How could we
become
better
if we have no
opportunities
and
exposure
to
apply
what we've
learned
and
exercise
what we've been
empowered
with?
How could we
become
skillful fighters
if
we have no
opportunities
and
exposure
to
practise
the
knowledge and skills
we've been given?
*
This truth
has
encouraged
me to
embrace my challenges
instead of
escaping
and even
cursing it.
I embrace
by
learning
how to enjoy
as
I endure
the battle.
Enjoyment
always involves
other people
who fight along
your side.
I enjoy
by knowing
that my permanent reward
is far more than the
temporary suffering,
I enjoy
by believing
that if I fight on,
I only finish stronger.
I enjoy
by reminding
myself
that the special people
who fight along me with,
become better fighters too.
Together,
we'll grow stronger.
If Daddy
hasn't given up,
I'll never dare
give up.
Who am I
to do that?
