Hello,
I'm back!
Past three days and two nights
in a far flung camp,
packed with an
interesting assortment of youths
and
paradigm-shifting programme sessions
have been
enjoyable
and
nourishing.
It is one thing
to exchange
time
with
money
to
benefit yourself.
It's another
to exchange
time
with
giving what you have
to
benefit
others
and
ultimately
yourself.
Investing,
or giving time
to love, teach and inspire
others
has
a magical
boomerang effect!
Once
you've experienced it,
you'll want
to keep
throwing your love forward.
Serving with my peers
in the camp committee leadership
has reinforced
the truth about
living a purposeful life -
when you pace
somebody
in his growth,
you grow too.
The sense of fulfillment
is indescribable
when you
see people benefit
because of what
you've given.
Watching the youths
grow
has been worth
uncountable hours of pre-camp meetings,
sleepless nights
[due to over-excitement of visualizing the written plans become reality in the camp]
and
slimy bathrooms at
the camp site.
Just as I was
about to slump off in bed
when I got home
exhausted but
still ecstatic with camp memories
fresh in my mind,
I got a call and offer
for a new documentary writing project
which will take my career to a
new level.
When you build other's lives,
Daddy will build yours.
Never have to worry
you'll be shortchanged
because
those
who choose
to give
are
promised
to be remembered
and
given more than
they could
achieve
on their own.
