Are You A Mimosa?

When you experience
pain
through an
encounter or relationship
with someone,

it
 does not
always mean
you are being
hurt.

There are people
who stepped into my life.

As they
grew closer to me,
I experienced
 pain -
not
 because they were
 hurting me

but
they cared to come close
to my hidden wounds.

When someone
cleans your wound,
won't you feel pain?

Won't you
 twitch and cringe,
feel
 uncomfortable
and
worry?

Love
could be
 so powerful
that
when it's expressed in the form of
conversations and actions,

it takes
an effect
on the
deepest secret wounds
in a person.

This is why
people who have
very low self-esteem,
or
an overwhelming amount of stress
or
unspoken problems

could
easily feel vulnerable or uncomfortable
when someone tries to
connect
with them.

To them,
being loved
is
unusual.

The feeling of being
paid attention to
is
foreign and strange;
they
feel
 awkward and uneasy.

Wounded people
are
 ultra-sensitive.
They are like
mimosas.

Just one touch,
they
clam up.

It isn't
because they are
 trying to be difficult.

They simply
don't know how to
receive love
because
 it's been so long
since they last
encountered love.

They
long for love
but
they are
 not confident
in receiving it

because
 for too long,
they tried
but were rejected
many times before.

Are you a
mimosa?

Open up
a little more
and
learn how to
receive love.

Respond
to the
concerned questions
from others.
Answer their questions
from your heart.

Trust
 that they
are
 genuinely interested.

Time
will prove to you
whether they truly
love you.

Acknowledge and Appreciate
the attention and care
given to you.

Be grateful
for
 people's
time and little actions of love
for you.

Realize and believe
that
you are loved!

There are people
who truly love you

but
you'll never know them,
you'll never get to enjoy love
if
you don't
give anyone a chance.

Are there
mimosas
around you?

Be more understanding
towards them.

Be patient
and
keep on showing love,
in words and actions.

With time,
they will eventually
trust
 you
and
let you in.

Then,
your love could
heal
their wounds.
