[Mark J Terrill]
You are born to
belong.
*
It's not enough to
own visions and dreams.
It's not enough
how talented you are or
can be.
It's not just about
what you believe.
You may survive
but
you can never be at peace
if you don't
belong.
*
No matter how independent
we make ourselves to be,
we can never deny
that
beneath
the thousand layers of pride,
we need and long
to
belong.
It is not to belong to
a place.
Clubs, systems, organizations,
companies are mere structures.
We need to belong
to somebody.
Very often,
this is the part where we rush into
romance.
Where have we learned this from?
Movies.
Lonely = Time to hook up
I've employed this formula
several times.
It was always exciting initially.
New things are always
thrilling things.
But thrilling things
are like fireworks.
They're magnificent and powerful
that last for a period
shorter
than we wish.
We celebrate
the beauty of romance
but
we must realize
belonging to a man or woman
is not
our most important need.
If you make a man or woman
the root of your life,
you give this person power
to
make your world go round
and also
turn it upside down.
Sadly,
we offer ourselves
too quickly;
before we know this person enough
to trust
that he or she
truly loves us enough
to not abuse this power.
And we always realize it
when it's too late.
The best use of life is
to love
and
it should begin with
belonging to
a
family.
