I recently dug this book out of my library
and am falling in love with it again.
It features speeches from iconic leaders in history:
Moses, Jesus, George Washington, Queen Elizebeth I, Abraham Lincoln,
Mahatma Ghandi, Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa,
Nelson Mandela are few of the 50.
I can't wait to share with you
what these history makers said
because I believe their words have the power to change your life.

The first days of 2009,
I learned a life-changing statement that's left an indellible mark
in my heart.
I knew it'd be my motto of the year when I heard it,
''If you do a small thing
as though it is a great thing,
He'll let you do a great thing
as though it's a small thing.''

Due to an ambitious personality,
it's easy to dream big, want big
and if undisciplined, talk big.
Many times,
great disappointments seem to follow
great expectations -
and we wonder why.
It's a painful realisation
but I've learnt the truth.
Unfaithfulness.
Unfaithfulness belittle little things in life.
She despises small beginnings -
she always wants glorious starts.
She is careless with details -
she thinks it's a waste of time to inspect the unobvious,
a glance-through will do.
Writing this takes me back to
the heart-wrenching days of
forgetting deadlines and overlooking important details.
I couldn't comprehend my carelessness
and I was tempted to believe it was a curse!
Nevertheless, it's to learn and breakthrough
or be stuck being a huge dreamer
who could never do big things.
We're not perfect
but
it is possible
to go onto perfection.
We will still forget,
but at least we can stop being
chronic amnesiacs
who's entangled in a messy life.
We can live a life less haphazard.
We get a hold of the clock,
instead of letting it depreciating our bank account
by throwing ourselves into taxis and
have another round of panic attack trying to beat traffic
and later blame the world for our lateness.
AH!
But it's a bliss to learn.
The results of this discipline
outweighs the pain.
Many times,
the victory overwhelms you.
I've experienced that in 2008.
And I don't mind another round of it.
I recommend you try.
Personal testimonies will convince a lifetime.
What are the small things in your life now?
How faithful have you been minding them?
What do you need to do now,
to mind them better?
''If you do a small thing
as though it is a great thing,
He'll let you do a great thing
as though it's a small thing.''
