Two Years Later.

I gladly break the hiatus declared recently
to commemorate a spontaneously arranged Christmas lunch
with a special guest at my home today.

Considering how he fled for his life
at the notice of my camera,
let's keep this 17 year old young man's identity confidential.

He's always called me his 'older sister'
due to comments of our resemblance.
He disappeared for awhile
but his appearance today
makes 2008's Christmas a memorable one.

Lunch in the simplest form.

Aren't these windmill bugs pretty?
They remind me of my late Grandma
for she collected knick knacks like these
which we decorate her grave with.

Activities backstage seemed astonishingly passable!

Marifei made what I've been affectionately nicknamed 'potato soup'
since childhood.
I can feel at home
devouring this anywhere in the world.

Thank God I had these Brutswarst sausages to save
L. from an unintended vegetarian lunch.
I detest, abhor, nauseate at the sight or smell of pork!
See how they sizzle....

Christmas' unfolding one surprise after another.
I'm thrilled to have one of the loveliest bunch of people
over for Christmas dinner 25th,
another impromptu Christmas Eve dinner party,

a picnic escapade where monkeys linger about
and two more gatherings to close 2008.

Above all sweets, games and presents,
it's the people involved
that makes the difference.

Enjoy yours too!
