Living in the Information Age,
We are taught to think more
And we are told that makes us smarter.
But it is grievous,
To have a powerful mind,
But a weak and stale heart.
An intelligent mind is admirable,
But one that isn't complimented with
A heart that is
Pure
Is considered nothing much at all, I'd say.
Actually,
The mind and the heart
Own a very unique relationship.
They are connected to one another;
Their interdependency makes
The direction where the input leads crucial.
I believe there are two types of general input:
The Truth
&
The Lie
Let's be simple.
Light & Darkness.
Truth produces Light [where there is clarity]
Lie produces Darkness [where there is confusion as we stumble in darkness]
I can have a mind full of ideas and thoughts,
But it may be choked up with Lies.
They contaminate the heart,
And binds it into a rigid, hardened lump.
That's where you get people
Who are so aloof and cold -
They can neither
Receive Love nor
Give love -
For they can't remember what love feels like,
Or they decide to not believe in love.
This kind of heart
Rejects love and
Cannot experience freedom and peace.
I can have a mind full of truths,
Brings clarity to my paths
And confidence in my steps.
I can make wise choices,
And reap the goodness of it.
Even when my heart is wounded,
I am opened and receptive to healing and love.
Very easily,
I can walk my way out into
Freedom and peace.
If it's weak,
It is so quick to drink it the strength from the Source
And be refreshed and strengthened again.

Nobody has a perfect heart or mind.
These are programmed to naturally degenerate and lean towards death.
So don't leave them alone.
Just as you don't leave your body to smell
By showering everyday.
Thoughts,
Like weeds,
If your garden is not diligently pruned and watered,
A day at a time,
Your mind is shrouded and bound in a shroud of dead things.
What's your garden like now?
Is it alive or struggling?
Is it fragrant or detestfully smelly?
Is it bearing fruits or withering to death?
What kind of mind and heart do you want?
You choose,
And you do what you need
Everyday.
*
How can a young man cleanse his way?
By heeding the word which proceeds from
His mouth.
And the Word is Truth;
And only the truth can set you free.
A pure heart
That's what I long for.
