I used to confuse shopping and eat-out companions
With true friends.
It gets really boring
When what all your friends do is only
Getting into the hype of special occassions and 'hang-outs' with you.
There's no substance in such relationships.
I found that particularly true in my tertiary school days
When hearing people talking about other people
Was so common.
Everyone feeds one another a gossip tidbit
And feels ohimsointhecliquenow.
If there's anything to say about one another,
It's just about
'Hey I like your dress, where did you get it?'
Very hardly,
People asked about one another's family or even childhood.
Nobody's really genuinely interested in one another.
You don't really know who to trust with your secrets and burdens,
Cos you don't know who truly cares
And who'll love you for who you are
Instead of judge and stab you on your back.
And it gets draining and dissatisfying.
When you're not okay,
They disappear.
When you've got something to give,
They receive and are hardly thankful.
Ever felt that way?
There's a longing in everyone
To have true friends.
But it's so rare to find one these days.
Friendship is meant to be like wine -
It matures and becomes sweeter.
I learnt that it can only happen,
When two spur one another on; to grow and progress
In the spirit and soul.
There will be seasons,
When no matter how much you encourage someone
To move along with you
They decide to switch paths.
And you will then need to choose:
To follow her
Or walk on even if it hurts.
People are important.
But Daddy is the most important.
He knows it hurts
When you have to let go of certain friends
In order to move forward -
Clarice and I have done that to one another
Many times.
And it's beautiful how He's brought us together again -
With one heart, one mind and one vision;
He's made all things beautiful
In his time.

Dear Valerie,
This is a letter to commemorate our decade-and-a-year friendship.
we've had our ups and our downs, our drift-aways and our draw-nears, and I must truly say that God has glued this friendship together since our childhood days.
I love your encouraging words, your forgiving spirit, your strength, your courage...
I love the way you 'll always believe in me...
Thank you for ur vallo lovin.
Thank you so much, and I am so glad to have you by my side.
Once and again, I pray this friendship will go deeper and stronger each year and I pray this friendship will be an amazing partnership with God.
Happy Birthday, I'm proud to have you as a friend, and I'm excited for the things to come which we have yet to fathom in our minds but is in God's hands.
By the way, I think I found someone for you. ; ) im always tryin.
[See, she's always doing this to me]
