School has finally resumed.
This semester seems more exciting with a panel of interesting lecturers.
My Cultural & Media Policies lecturer is called
Mr. Saul Naidu.
What a suave name he's got.
His demeanor and appearance remind me of Harry Potter's Severus Snape,
'Cept his turbo-strappy black backpack.
Mr. Frankie Yee for Organisational Theory & Behaviour
Is as Peranakan-Baba as always.
He speaks with a distinct Peranakan-Baba twang
Which often makes his witty remarks and illustrations even more hilarious.
Mr. Frankie asked why, usually, females don't make good leaders.
It is because females are more emotional;
They appear more vulnerable
When they spill their tears in times of stress.
They tend to be more subjective than objective.
''It's their birthright to cry.''
Birthright to cry.
While chuckling over this statement,
I got reminded there's so much more birthright that we can own
Than just human rights.
People strategise and fight so much for human rights
But hardly achieve nothing but tension, injuries and even deaths.
What birthright do you have?
What birthrights can we own?
One of the most extraordinary ones is
The Birthright to Create.
There are many things we cannot determine or control.
Circumstances and even the weather.
But there is a place,
Where we can.
But this place does not exist on Earth,
Where it is destined to disintegrate with time.
Everything touchable and visible
Is a temporary object.
It has a birthdate and an expiration date.
There is another place
Where it stood before creation.
Time cannot measure it.
It is untouchable and invisble to our physical self.
Where is it?
If you own a birthright to it,
You have access to it.
Close your eyes.
Connect.
See.
Dream.
Visualise.
These are not figments of our imagination.
They are real.
Even more real than the physical things lying on this Earth.
What do you really want from there,
Which this world cannot offer?
What if you can't see anything?
Come and know Him.
''More than what this world offers
You are my only treasure.''
