Wise Woman.

You ready for the second quality that makes a person
Beautiful?

Listen what Cate Blanchett said,

'It's their minds, in the end.
It's what makes a woman beautiful when she's young,
And it's what makes a woman beautiful when she is old.'

Yes.
We're talking about

Wisdom.

A person may not be a beauty,
But if she has wisdom,
She is beautiful.

Wisdom is a great beautifier.

A woman who practices discernment and sound judgement is attractive.

Yah Lan is like that.

She truly Listens,
Thinks,
And then Speaks.
She usually asks a few questions
And then
Shares a wise insight.

She is confident, settled within herself,
And positive in her outlook.
It is her wisdom that enables her to be quiet before she speaks.
She is the epitome of
Discretion.

The opposite of Discretion is a scenario Heald described in her book:

A group of girls yakkity-yakking at the top of their lungs,
Once in a while, they scream.
Their conversation is loud, boisterous and regrettably profane.

'As I observed these young girls,
I thought of the words of the wise King Solomon,
'A beautiful woman who lacks discretion
Is like a gold ring in a pig's snout.'

And he goes on,
'For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies.
Nothing you desire can compare with it.'

To become wise,
We must desire to become wise.

One of the simplest way to gain wisdom,
Is to spend time with wise people.

Who are the wise women (or men) in your life?
Are they your family members or friends?
Are they the women (or men) whose books you've read?

Choose friends who are committed to living wisely.

Spend time with them.

Ask them questions.
Learn from their lives -
Observe how they solve problems, approach people and handle pressure and power.

Stop waiting for wise people to step into your life.
If you want to learn from them,
Initiate by pressing into their lives.
It's never about the teacher,
But the student.

In seeking wisdom,
Thou art Wise;
In imagining that thou hast attained it,
Thou art Fool.'
