Mighty River.

Love brings together.
It adds and multiplies.

It nourishes and
brings growth.

It is rich and
overflows.

It is more than enough,
its abundance overflows.

I'd never say this five years back.

Because I haven't met
Love himself.

How quickly love runs dry.

I was like a pond -
life is stale and stagnant.
An invisible weight hovers over it.

I tried to throw some fish in;
to add some life to it.
I'd feed them everyday.
How diligent I was cleaning out my pond -
trying to make everything perfect.

But the fish die quickly.
And I just couldn't understand it.

No matter how much I did,
my life was just a pond.

By the time I came back to Love,
my pond was dry and empty -
dead fish and dried water plants strewn across the pond bed.

My life lost its soul.
My image was a bottomless vacuum.

He cleaned out the pond.
Washed it over.
No, he didn't replace it with new water.

He broke its walls
and stretched it to the left and right.
And made it into a river.

I've never been so refreshed.
I've come alive.
I can breathe again.
I can be free to run.
I can smile and laugh now.

The water that flows,
how wonderful it is to know,
they don't have to come from me anymore.
I am not the source of everything I desired,
everything I hoped for.

I don't have to thrive
to be the vine.
I am the branch,
I'll let him be the vine.
I am not all.
I'll let him be All.

Love became my Source,
where a
living water flows in and through my life -
so much I can't contain it,
so abundant it overflows

from myself to those around me,

and now
He says,

'and to the ends of the earth.'

Your river runs with
Love for me.
