Between The Gates.

There are those who shine so much,
Those who don't
Gnash their teeth against their glory.

The brightness his children carry
Stings their eyes.

People cannot comprehend;
Why, despite their weaknesses,
They outshine those who only lust but cannot have?

Why, do they have such favour,
What is it that they have
That the ones in the shadows do not possess?

What is so special about them,
That their ideas and wisdom
Are irresistable to men

And their character,
Undeniably beautifying them?

*

The difference stands on the gate of his house.

Those who are inside
And
Those who are outside.

*

The ones inside,
No, they are not immortals.
But they have access to the almighty.

No, they are not yet perfect,
But they are willing to be
Chastised by their father
And grow as mature sons and daughters.

Because they understand,
Love is more interested in character
Than in comfort.
They trust,
He will never break a bruised reed,
Nor quench a smoking flax.

They have eaten the food of the house,
And enjoyed the safety of its dwelling -
They are grateful for all.

Occasionally,
They have problems with their brothers and sisters.
But they are quick to forgive and reconcile,
For they are not competing for anything,
Since they already have All.

*

The ones who stand outside,

Who are they, that they point fingers
At those who are inside?

Why are they so fervent
In shooting down those
Who have not done any bad to them?

I'd say
They just can't stand seeing
Others have what they think they cannot have.

If they hate the place so much,
Why still stand outside the house?

Maybe they feel better
Even outside the gate.

Maybe they feel more justified
If they can make those inside look worse than they seem.

Where do you want to stand?

I stand on the inside.
And I am locked-on intensifying the brightness
That darkness has to hide;
That the words from there
Will bounce back and fall to the ground as dust.

No works nor word
Can stand against the faithful.

*

Enough of loitering at the gate.
It's cold and hard out there.

*
Moreover whom he predestined,
These he also called;

Whom he called,
These he also justified;
And whom he justified, These he also glorified.

What then shall we say to these things?

If he is for us,
Who can be against us?

Who shall bring a charge against his elect?
It is the Head of the House who justifies.

Who is he who condemns?
What shall seperate us from the love of him?

Shall tribulation, or distress,

Or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Yet in all these things,
We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For I am persuaded

That neither death nor life,

Nor angels nor principalities nor powers,

Nor things present nor things to come,

Nor height no depth,
Nor any other created thing
Shall be able to separate us from his love.
